The Ascom d81 Protector is a robust, sophisticated IP-DECT phone handset. It can receive alerts and start actions. It features man-down, no-movement capability and a staff attack alarm. Advanced functionality and operating safety make the d81 ideal for the most challenging settings such as industrial plants and secure establishments.

Ascom d81 is a rugged DECT handset intended for professional users in demanding environments. Besides excellent telephony, its advanced messaging capabilities make it ideal for interacting with colleagues and even automated equipment. The Ascom d81 is available in a number of license dependent models – from a robust telephone with professional messaging (Messenger) to an advanced model with personal alarm capabilities (Protector)

All Ascom DECT handsets are supplied with a battery, but without a PSU or charger. Unless you have an existing basic charger, or a drop-in multi-charger you will need to purchase an Ascom Charger for d81 DECT Handsets

Both Ascom d81 Messenger and Protector are also available in “intrinsically safe” models, for use in potentially explosive environments. Ascom follows the ATEX directive for Europe, CSA certification for North America and the IECEx scheme for rest of the world.

Designed for tough, challenging environments

The d81 Protector can be relied on in the toughest working environments, where the handset is handled roughly and is exposed to the elements. Not only does it resist rain, humidity and dust, but the strong rubber casing protects the handset if dropped. It is tested for twice the standard level of static electricity and it endures both cold and heat.Adjustable low power setting to reduce risk of radio emissions interfering with sensitive equipment. There is also an intrinsically safe variant for operation in hazardous locations.

Advanced functionality

Based on a proven IP-DECT operating platform with high volume and voice quality, the functionality of the Ascom d81 Protector can be matched to the specific needs of your organisation and the individuals in it. The advanced messaging functionality of the d81 means smooth interaction with colleagues or machinery. For example, information from production processes can be sent directly to the handset. Thanks to centralised management, the handsets in the system can be automatically configured, upgraded and updated. Furthermore, the functionality of the d81 can be complimented through the application of a number of additional licenses.

Advanced safety

The advanced alarm functions include a manual alarm and an automatic man-down and no-movement alarm. Dual functionality lets the user make a call and send an alarm at the same time. The person sending the alarm can be pinpointed with high accuracy and the messages can be automatically sent to the handsets in closest proximity to any reported event. In short, the Ascom d81 Protector can make a major contribution to minimising safety risks. The protection of worker isolated allows the user to manually activate an alarm and indicate their position by a GPS signal. Combined with the PC – Pull Cord function, the worker is completely safe: if there is a problem, simply pull the cord to activate the alarm.
