Cordless/DECT

DECT or Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications is a standard used in cordless telephony. Generally DECT telephones comprise of a base station which connects to a telephone line and enable connection to telephone network. In most cases you can add up to 6 handsets per base station.

The range is usually listed as being 50m indoors and up to 300m outdoors but in reality these distances can be substantially reduced by the obstacles such as concrete walls. If this range is not sufficient DECT Repeaters can be registered to the base unit and used to extend the coverage of the phones, helping to eliminate black spots.
